Posted on: May 25, 2013
WTO organizes “Geneva Weeks” for non-resident delegations from the 1st until the 3rd of May 2013.
These special week-long events bring together representatives of WTO member countries who do not have permanent missions in Geneva and therefore cover WTO matters from other European capitals or from their capitals. The purpose of the Geneva week is to inform these member countries and observers about recent developments taking place at the WTO.
The ACP-EU TBT Programme took the opportunity of the “Geneva Week” to present the TBT Programme to all ACP Missions in Geneva and ACP Non-Resident Missions on the 1st of May 2013 gathering about 80 participants. Several q
uestions have been raised by different ACP Member States such as: The Gambia, Ivory Coast, St Vincent and Grenadines, Jamaica, Barbados, Solomon Islands and the raised issues related to: The implementation strategy of the PMU, eligibility criteria, impactand sustainability of the Programme, selection process of expertise, Programme monitoring, requests’ selection process, Programme coverage, assistance provided by the PMU for the request formulation.
The presentation has been a real success and considered by the ACP Member states as one of the most concrete presentations done during the Geneva Week!
